• Scharlet Ward

    FOUNDER

Schar Ward began her professional cleaning career in 1968 and quickly established her own business, Domestic Engineering Inc., by 1973. With a team of fifty-eight employees, she soon realized that managing such a large team took away the personal touch she had when her business was smaller. To restore this personal touch, Schar downsized the business to twenty employees, which is how she ran it until her daughter became the owner.

Schar attributes her passion for cleaning to her mother, which she has passed on to her children and grandchildren, as well as the many readers of her books. She is a published author of "Dirty Little Secrets of a Professional Housecleaner," "It's About Time," and "Teaching Children to Clean", her latest book, co-authored with her daughter Debra Varin, "Are You a Junkaholic?" will be published by Universal Publishers on November 1, 2023. It is available at Amazon and Barnes and noble.

Schar was a contributing writer for "Dog Fancy" Magazine and appeared on Twin Cities Live as the "Green Cleaning Lady" for two years. She has been a guest on HGTV and numerous television and radio shows, sharing her cleaning expertise. and has performed humorous cleaning seminars at Home and Garden shows as her alter ego, 'Clara Klutz', alongside her daughter Debra Varin (Sally Sparkle).

Debra inherited her mother's passion for cleaning and helping people and has traveled across the United States with her mother, performing at Home and Garden shows and teaching people effective cleaning methods. Her empathy for people who suffer from Junkaholism shows in all of her work.

Deb spends her spare time helping at homeless shelters and food shelfs.

  • ERIC VARIN

    MANAGER / FUTURE CEO

Eric Varin is the Manager of the Hoarding Division for Varin Enterprises called Twin Cities Hoarding Clean Up. With a family background in cleaning and a passion for helping people, Eric finds great joy in his work. He understands that the task of cleaning up and restoring a hoarded home can be a difficult one, yet it is immensely gratifying when the job is complete. With the ability to make a positive difference in someone's life in such a short amount of time, Eric believes there is no other job that could provide such gratification.

Eric also realizes that the large amounts of goods and materials that Junkaholics collect contribute to climate change due to the fact it results in increased greenhouse gas emissions and resource depletion. Additionally, Junkaholism can lead to inefficient use of space and energy in homes.

Therefore. by addressing the Junkaholic behavior our company can have a positive impact on both individual well-being and the environment.
